Stop and stare
It must be dinner time.
Between the hours of 5:00 and, well, until I feed them; my brats make a point of strolling aimlessly through our home. Going room to room only occasionally slowing the pace further to casually glance at the food bowls sitting on the counter edge. I know hunger has overcome the cuddly cuteness of my 17 pound Max when he stops and stares at me...... without blinking, flinching or even a twitch of an ear to listen to the squirrel on our balcony taunting and teasing Baloo and Bagheera.

Economy, business and... adoption?
Has the economy affected businesses in such a way
that slander and personal attacks on another have become necessary? When did it
become acceptable for a business to dig up, and post online, information about
someone’s past so deeply emotional and personal? Is that business struggling so
much that morals, ethics and common decency be tossed aside?
The personal information I write about
is giving my newborn baby a chance at a better life. As my family and friends
know, at the age of 17, I chose to give my newborn son up for adoption. No, it
was not an easy decision and I still think of him every day praying his life is
better than I would have been able to provide. I am proud of myself and am so
grateful for the love and support my family has given me over the
years.
Never once in the 25 years since the adoption did
I ever think that someone might be so malicious as to use this information to
attack me. How can anyone
justiify this behavior…to send me such ugly accusatory emails about the decision I
made? And then, to spread this “news” for the past few months as if the topic is mere office gossip. How deperate can anyone be for business that the thought of doing this would even enter their mind?
I am grateful that years ago I
discussed this openly with my children; that they didn’t have to learn about
this part of my life as I was being “stalked” on line by another
business.
To the person which claims to be a specialist in romance; I can only hope you are as at peace with your choices and decisions as I am with mine.
To give a child of any age up for adoption is without question, one of the most challenging decisions anyone could make. My heart goes out to everyone ever touched by adoption. To the families and adopting parents, thank you for loving. To those women and men which will be forever known as the "birth mother and birth father", thank you for your gift.
